Introduction :

Boswellia (Shallaki / Salai Guggulu )is an effective anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-arthritic gum resin obtained from Boswellia serrata that significantly ameliorates pain, swelling and inflammation of joints and allied structures. • β-boswellic acid, acetyl-β-boswellic acid, 11-keto-β-boswellic acid and acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellicacid, the active components of Boswellia, markedly inhibit pro-inflammatory enzymes. Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid is the most potent inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase, an enzyme responsible for inflammation.2
  • Efficacious in certain autoimmune disease, especially rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and bronchial asthma.3
